BOVOTRADE + KuCoin

Two systems, one connection — clearly explained.

BOVOTRADE/BOVOBot is the automation software. KuCoin is the trading platform where your own account, funds and positions are held. The API connects both without BOVOTRADE taking custody of your funds.

01

BOVOTRADE / BOVOBot

Bot & trading software

Runs on your own Windows PC or server, processes signals and can send futures orders according to your settings.

02

API connection

Limited technical access

Key, Secret and Passphrase connect BOVOBot to your KuCoin account. For the public Standard Futures route, BOVOTRADE says General/read and Futures trading rights are sufficient.

03

KuCoin

Account, funds & execution

Your capital stays in your own KuCoin account. Balances, futures positions and actual orders are maintained there.

BOVOBotAPIKuCoin Futures

Important: “capital stays at KuCoin” does not mean “risk-free”. Futures can cause losses up to the full amount used. Exchange, network, liquidation and technical risks remain.

Why are both needed?

KuCoin provides the exchange account and trading infrastructure. BOVOBot provides the automation. Without a compatible KuCoin Futures account, BOVOBot cannot execute orders on this route; without BOVOBot, there is no automation by the BOVOTRADE software.

Where are the funds — and who controls them?

BOVOTRADE does not custody your money. Funds remain in your own KuCoin account. You sign in to KuCoin yourself, see balances, positions and open orders there, and manage deposits and withdrawals through KuCoin. Availability and withdrawals remain subject to KuCoin, account status, security checks, technical availability and applicable rules.

API permissions: keep them minimal

For the public BOVOBot Standard Futures route, BOVOTRADE identifies only general data and Futures trading permissions as required. Withdrawal permission should remain disabled.

API areaFor BOVOBotWhat it means
General / readRequiredRead account, order and market information.
FuturesRequiredPlace and cancel futures orders. These permissions can create real losses.
WithdrawalDo not enableNot required for BOVOBot. Without it, the API key cannot use KuCoin withdrawal endpoints.
Spot / Margin / Earn / other rightsNot by defaultNot required for the public Standard Futures route unless current BOVOTRADE documentation says otherwise.

API Key, Secret and Passphrase belong only on your own BOVOBot system. Never send them by email, chat or screenshot.

Setup — step by step

  1. Check region and provider terms

First check whether BOVOTRADE Community Edition and KuCoin may be used in your location. BOVOTRADE currently states that its Community Edition is not offered or actively marketed in the EU/EEA or Mainland China.

  2. Prepare your KuCoin account

Sign in to your own KuCoin account and confirm Futures access is enabled for that account. Use only your own account and enable KuCoin security features.

  3. Download BOVOBot only from the official source

Download the Community Edition from BOVOTRADE and compare the published SHA-256 checksum with your file before setup.

  4. Create a separate API key for the bot

Create a dedicated API key only for BOVOBot. Enable only General/read and Futures. Withdrawal and unnecessary extra rights remain off.

  5. Enter credentials locally

Enter API Key, Secret and Passphrase only in your own BOVOBot installation. According to BOVOTRADE, bovotrade.com does not need or receive these credentials.

  6. Set risk limits before start

Before starting, use a small market whitelist, clear position limits and a test size whose full loss you could bear. Enable Auto-Entry only once the connection and displays are understandable.

Controlled functional test

This tests connection, permissions and control — not profitability. You can complete through step 5 without intentionally placing a new live trade. A real order test can incur fees, slippage, funding and losses.

1. Re-check permissions in KuCoin

Open KuCoin API management. Confirm General/read + Futures are on; Withdrawal is off. Do not enable extra permissions “just in case”.

2. Start the bot — keep Auto-Entry off first

Start BOVOBot deliberately and first check only status, market data and connection. BOVOTRADE says a download or first launch does not itself authorize orders.

3. Compare bot data with KuCoin

Compare markets, account state, any positions and Open Orders with your KuCoin account. If symbol, size or status do not match, do not continue.

4. Check warnings, time and network

For connection errors, first review passphrase, Futures rights, IP restrictions, system time and network. Never send API credentials to support.

5. Test stopping — before a new order

Stop the bot and verify the status is actually stopped. Check KuCoin for open positions and orders. A stopped bot does not necessarily close existing exchange positions unless the software explicitly shows that behavior.

6. Optional: test one live order route

Only if you deliberately want to test live trading: use one approved route, a very small test size and at most one position. Verify the order immediately in KuCoin. This is a real futures trade with real loss risk.

7. Cross-check protection status in KuCoin

If the selected BOVOBot strategy expects protective/Safe Orders, compare them with actual Open Orders at KuCoin. Review any warning or rejected protective order immediately; protection logic does not guarantee a loss limit.

8. Prove control: revoke the API key

Stop BOVOBot, delete or disable the API key at KuCoin, then confirm BOVOBot can no longer access the account. If you continue, create a new limited key afterwards.

The test passes when …

  • KuCoin shows only the intended API permissions.
  • BOVOBot can read data and — only if intentionally tested — send the expected futures order.
  • Bot display and KuCoin position/Open Orders match in an understandable way.
  • No new automated orders appear after stopping.
  • BOVOBot loses access after the API key is revoked.
  • Key, Secret and Passphrase were never sent to a website, email or chat.

Stop immediately and investigate when …

  • Positions or orders do not match the bot display.
  • Protective orders are missing when the chosen strategy expects them.
  • Withdrawal permission is accidentally enabled.
  • BOVOBot uses an unexpected order size, market or route.
  • API, time, network or exchange errors are not clearly understood.

What “keeping control” actually means

You control your KuCoin account and can stop the bot or revoke its API key at KuCoin. This is different from a guarantee that funds are always available without restriction. Withdrawals and account access are subject to KuCoin rules, security checks, technical availability and possible regional restrictions.

Set up BOVOTRADE and KuCoin

The KuCoin link is a compensated partner link in the BOVOTRADE context. GaVopia may receive a commission. This does not change the risk notices or technical assessment.

Risk notice: Crypto and especially futures trading can cause substantial losses up to the full amount used. Automation does not remove this risk. GaVopia does not provide investment advice and BOVOTRADE describes itself as an independent community software project, not operated or endorsed by KuCoin.
